RIFLA is proud to support this exciting, new state-wide conversation, which aims to create articulated K-16 world language programs. As you know, in Rhode Island, unlike our neighboring states, we do not currently have state-wide support for language learning programs. As global competency continues to be a necessary goal for all students in the 21st century many RI building and district leaders in World Languages are interested in exploring these possibilities.  Are you interested in learning about the benefits of elementary second language (FLES) and/or dual immersion programs for your district? Are you facing budgetary or personnel challenges?

In discussions with colleagues and through our Advocacy Committee, we have received feedback that many of you might be looking for assistance. In order to coordinate our efforts in this small state we would like to invite you to our first meeting.

Your attendance at this meeting does not require any type of commitment but rather an opportunity to participate in a round table discussion and provide input that will help us plan for next steps as a state.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday June 4th from 4-6pm at URI in the Hoffmann Room (Swan 154) in Swan Hall at 60 Upper College Rd. Parking is available in the Visitor lot right across the street from this building.
