Participants will leave with a wide range of instructional strategies that support proficiency based language learning.
OVERVIEW: Building proficiency** in all 3 modes of communication is attainable when teachers focus on what students CAN DO* with the language. In this workshop participants will examine best instructional practices to empower students by targeting an attainable, rigorous proficiency level while fostering a risk-taking environment. Participants will receive sample work, rubrics and resources to plan units and assessments for proficiency. This workshop will provide valuable resources for participants at ALL levels of familiarity with teaching for proficiency.
